    Sayings from Non-Muslims!

“I have spent more than 20 years in prison, then on one night I decided to surrender by signing all the terms and conditions of government. But suddenly I thought about Imam Hussain (as) and Karbala movement and Imam Hussain (as) gave me strength to stand for the right of freedom and liberation and I did.”

    Nelson Mandela

“In a distant age and climate the tragic scene of the death of Hussein will awaken the sympathy of the coldest reader.” [The Decline and Fall of the Roman Empire, London, 1911, volume 5, pp. 391-2]

    Edward Gibbon

“My faith is that the progress of Islam does not depend on the use of sword by its believers, but the result of the supreme sacrifice of Hussein, the great saint.”

    Mahatma Gandhi

“If Hussein fought to quench his worldly desires, then I do not understand why his sisters, wives and children accompanied him. It stands to reason therefore that he sacrificed purely for Islam.”

    Charles Dickens

“Imam Hussein’s sacrifice is for all groups and communities, an example of the path of righteousness.”

    Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru

    About Us

The Hussaini Islamic Trust UK works all year around to bring you the UK Arbaeen Procession. It is for all those Momineen who are unable to reach Karbala for Arbaeen, to come together and walk and pray in the love of the Ahlulbayt (a.s).

The Procession has taken place every year on the first Sunday after to Arbaeen, at the heart of the nation’s capital, for the last 40 years. Join us for this year’s Procession on Sunday 25th September 2022 at Marble Arch London W1H 7DX.

    Who Is Hussain (a.s)

Hussain (a.s) was a 7th Century leader who made the ultimate sacrifice for social justice in the face of corruption and tyranny. Alongside his family and friends, they stood up against injustice and oppression. Hussain (a.s) is the grandson of the Prophet Muhammed (s.a.w).
